Content
The important elements in learning a language are grammar, always grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. Reading is essential so as to reinforce and develop a greater vocabulary. My lessons comprise a balance of these elements. Whether teaching children or adults repetition is important as is variety. My lessons can be tailored to your specific needs but will include from the outset, learning these basic things first:
- Italian Alphabet
- Pronunciation of each letter
- Italian Greetings – Saluti
- Today is and the date
- Days of the week, months of the year, the four seasons
- How are you? Come stai?
- I call myself, my name is, what are you called?
- How old are you? Where do you live?
- Rules of grammar are important:
- Nouns, masculine and feminine / plurals
- Articles and gender
- Prepositions / Pronouns
- Adjectives, adverbs
- Verbs
- Counting to 100 and beyond
- Reading, writing and listening activities
- Flashcards, games, music and song
Vocabulary
- Food, Colours, Family, Places, Objects, The home, Animals, opposites, Useful expressions
- Geography - The map of Italy; it’s 20 regions and 20 capital cities
